Hi All

A quick question what are the recommended tyres for a mark 2 explorer xlt.

I had Goodyear on the car when I got it but a dealer fitted two new Avon tyres to the front recently and the grip is rubbish, I go up a steep car park slope in the wet and the car struggles to maintain traction.

Same here only I got the 265*75*16's Only slight rubbing on full lock. :D

I have a set of 265/75/16 goodyear wrangler silent armors and they are great. I have not had any trouble in any road condition. To make the 265's fit you are going to have to do a TT and possibly cut a little plactic on the front bumper, nothing major. And in the rear I would reccommend a set of warrior WAR 153 shackles and possibly an add-a-leaf. Also long as you leave the sway bars attached you should not have any problems, if you take them off then you are going to have problems in the front:frospecta
