I just had the front and rear u-joints replaced on my 91 4x4. I still have a "klunk" when I put it in gear, but its not the same as when the joints were bad. Mine develpoed a vibration that started at 35mph and increased with speed. I think its safe to say that if you have a bad u-joint then a vibration is soon to follow. By the way, if you have a auto transmission how is it holding up? Good luck.
