Ultimate DVD/Jukebox...

I have been on a mission for a while trying to figure out the best way to mount my laptop in the car. I figure if the police drive explorers then there must be a good way of doing it. I found a few places on the internet that sold the ones that the police use but they are all quite flimsy. You get alot of movement when on the trails or even the highway. On my quest, I found a use for the dumba$$ tissue box besides the weaponry concealment method (for all you texans ;-) I created a small bracket that bolt directly to the factory setup. This bracket acts like car hitch reciever for the laptop mount. It gives you full capabilities to remove the mount whenever you are pushed for space on the passenger side. I made the mount for the laptop out of acrylics so it looks really nice but you could use anything, such as metal or aluminum or whatever. If anyone is interested, just let me know. The whole kit came to around $65 which is much better than the 200 listed on the website, plus, this is a much stronger setup. When removed, you see nothing. Check it out...

I can send you all some pictures or I can have everything done and ship them to you. I don't care. Either way, i doubt I am going to make any cash on it. If you want it just shipped to you, let's see if we can get about 10 or 15 people together to buy them and I will have them "mass" produced over at our local welding shop. I figure that it will cost about $70 a peice and that should include shipping. You would have to customize it for your laptop a little but I assure you it would be well worth it. If that many people are interested I will put some more thought into this. Just let me know!

ultimate dvd/jukebox

I have something in my explorer that is along the same lines of the ultimate dvd/jukebox. In the back, next to my subs, I have my carputer, i gutted a computer and transferred everything into a toolbox (so thieves wouldnt know that it was full of hitech electronics and it looked better than a computer in the back of my truck). I have it powered by an inverter and have the audio tied into my hu's aux input so i dont have the degraded sound quality of an fm modulator. I have the display from the computer on my screen which i put in my console. I can instantly listen to one of thousands of my mp3s or watch tv shows recorded to my hd, divx, dvd, music videos, and plan on adding gps in the near future. I also mounted the controls for the inverter and the power switch for the computer in my center console so i can turn it on without having to get out of my seat.

Laptop mounts...

I am going to have a bunch of these made for some friends around where I live. If you all want one, please post the dimensions of your laptop and I will have one made for you. I am hoping to get them all made for under $60 apiece... so if you want one, let me know.

If you are really interested, I can have another made for you. I just had a few made the other day. They are usually around $70 shipped or the next time I have it off, I can take some pics... I will tell you this, my mount could support 100lbs easy. A few people on the site have them.
