Last year I had an issue where the mode door (defrost/vent/floor)stopped working.
Once I replaced that mode door actuator I noticed the temperature controls stopped working where I can only change it to hot or cold.
I replaced the drivers side blend door with an oem part. Still didn't work. Then I replaced it again with a doorman part and did an hvac reboot via forscan and disconnected the battery for 10 minutes.
Issue still remained.
I connected to forscan and both drivers and passenger blend doors still would only show either 0% (cold)or 255%(hot) and nothing in between.
So I am thinking this is not a blend door actuator issue since it has been replaced twice on the drivers side.
In addition, while it was connected to forscan I noticed an issue with the recirculation blend door. I replaced that recirculation blend door and it fixed that issue.
On a side note, I had the compressor/condensor/expansion valve replaced by a local mechanic and that mechanic told me he thought there was still some warm air getting in but I didn't want him to do anything more since the compressor change was $$$$. (Me changing the recirculation actuator resolved that issue and the temperature problem was already an issue prior)
So at this point, I am leaning towards the HVAC control module. Could it be something else?
