Wasnt sure where to post this so I figured this would be the best place. I was looking under my truck today and saw how orange it looked lol.(no real rust just the stuff u could brillow off) or something like that and I got to thinking how hard would it be to paint it a nice black gloss finish ?

A lot harder than it looks. Send it to the shop. They will steam wash it thoroughly. Let dry then apply the underbody coating. This is best done when the truck is still sort of new (before the rust starts). I had my Father's full size van done. It cost $350 but that was back in '95.

I take my pressure washer and use hot water to blast everything off let it dry and then it used 12 cans of paint. I have done it twice now. I have undercoating under the paint

I powersprayed off all that excess then just sprayed glossy rusteloum black spray paint and will say am amazed how it has held up, even through constant mud trips, just spray it off and looks really good, cheap fix too

thanks for the info everyone
