ok i would like some advice/help. im overseas now and ive designed a under the seat box. problem is, i have done this from tid bits of info and memory. can anyone shed some light for me? will these boxes work? id like to still be able to fold my seats a little bit. as for braces, which is better(2 staggered/shared space in pic #1 or just the 1 brace separate spaces in pic #2?)

pic #1(one shared space)

pic #2(2 divided spaces)

these are my rough drafts, id like to extend the 10in on the base, but i dont know how much i have before i hit the hump or how high the hump is. im open to any suggestions or comments... i dont care who uses or copies, but if you can change it to make it work, please share the knowledge.

awesome! thanks. is there any wiggle room with the 3in for the hump area or the distance to the hump(13in)? and whats the notched out part where the three 3in's meet in the first pic?

It's pretty tight under the seat with the box. The knotch is for the hump, towards the rear, it goes up at an angle in the back.

I'll try and find some more pictures of dual under seat box's other's have made ad post them for you.

yeah i was wondering about this also, i was wanting to get maybe two 10"s or 12's :D but was wondering if and how they will fit under the back seat.?

rebel, do you have much, if any, room to fold the seat with a 7in box? i was hoping that i'd have some more play with the 2-3in difference. as far the back notch, i think ill be ok as i made mine 9in. looking at yours, i guess ill have to sacrifice some air space and go with 2in for the hump. last, the length of the box... since yours is 23in, will my 46in fit under the seat?

anyone who can answer, about the dividers for the box, is it better without?
will it sound ok sharing a space or do they need their own separate space? any suggestions on bracing for the flex of the box(where to put, length, etc)?

thanks again!
Keep on tracin"

bump, im chickening out of the under seat box. can anyone give me a good set of measurements for behind the seat box?? thanks in advance

If im not mistaken there is an advertisement for sub enclosures for sport tracs on http://www.mysporttrac.com, probably on the home page. hey jerry, if im right about that link, you probably know what im talking about.. but you think that would work for a dual 10" sub setup? i think i remember seeing that size box for a behind the back seat box

There are dozen of threads with detailed pictures and builds for sub enclosures for under the seat, behind the seat and center consol. Just go on there and do a search for "custom sub enclosures", "sub boxes", "speaker boxes", etc. and you'll find a wealth of info on enclosures for our Trac's.

thanks, i found a nice side template for a behind the seat box on myst.com. i may just wing it and design my own because id like to keep the carseat hooks available just in case. off the topic, ive been off of work for the past week because im just getting off a deployment and i ran all my wire, replaced the cruise control switches and the faulty egr sensor (no more check engine light...score) with genuine motorcraft parts, put in my new 5.25's in the doors and just finished my projector retrofit. getting drunk tonight!! :bdrunk:
sorry, had to get that off my chest because my wife cant appreciate that kind of work and dont really give a damn.lol

I'm not sure if hatchbox is still doing it or not. Get a hold of Todd Z from the ST site and ask him, he would know. If you wanna see some badass enclosures do a search for enclosures on the ST site , there's a ton of them.

Im in the works of making a Dual 10" enclosure for under the rear seats, just something to keep me on top of my CAD classes :)

Basically its 2 of the single 10" enclosures put together, and if you use shallow mounts there should be enough air in the box to accommodate them.

My 2 problems are getting it under the seat, and dealing with not being able to fold the seat down

Yep, that's why most of those guys made theirs for behind the seat.

Idk how Id feel about cutting up back there tho...

I guess in the long run it would be easier. And more efficient. And you could prolly fit 2 twelves in! Hmmm... now u got me thinking
