On the 4.0 (either) you don't want underdrive pullies for reliability issues. The only sets I've heard about for the Explorer at all are by JET and they don't fit right and half the time don't even bolt on!
Hmm, never heard that one before. Care to elaborate on this more for us pingers? (pinger- pronounced "Newbie" by you weirdos) I was thinking of buying some, until I read that.
The power steering pump, water pump, and alternator aren't great in our trucks, and underdriving them can cause strain on those systems (not enough volts, weak steering and overheating ps fluid, poor coolant flow).
Yep. Stay away from under drive pulleys unless all you plan to do with your truck is race it to 1/4 mile. Your battery will run low because the alternator won't be able to give it enough juice to maintain 12 volts. Under drive pulleys are bad news even if you are lucky enough to find them.
