Ok guys I need your help and fast. My wifes explorer has ONE tire wearing on the inside and its only that one tire. Its the drivers side rear.

Only incident we had with it is that last winter i slid into a curb but it was the opposite side that hit the curb so Im baffled. I cannot keep buying tires at 600 a set.

Please help.

sounds like the axle tube is bent. why that side? who knows!

but if you take a level and put it against the outside of the tire to check if it is plumb. then check the passenger side and see if it is plumb as well

how can you have a bent axle tube when its IRS not SRA??

Looking at the wheels it looks as if that wheel is cambered in compared to the other side. But im trying to figure out how its doing that.

I neither know much about the IRS nor do I really like it (solid rear axle fan) but, if you can't see or feel anything bent or broken, I would take it to an alignment shop and tell them what your problem is.

Like "Wood" suggested, take it to a Computerized wheel alignment shop and let them diagnose it for you. Just stay away from shops like "Midas Or Monroe" or you'll be changing your whole under carriage when they get done with you. Who ever you take it to, do not mention you slid into a curb during winter, just tell them about one tire wearing unevenly and let them diagnose it on their alignement machine and go from there. Some places will diagnose alignment issues for free. Good luck!
