Well, I successfully bypassed the compressor and she's running again, so that's good.
I took part of the clutch apart, and it was wasted. The compressor is definitely siezed up real good. So, I guess that's going to have to stay dormant for a while. I can't help but wonder if I would have charged up the system, would I have prevented this whole mess? I'm kinda kickin' myself for this one.
It's a R 134a system in a '94 Exlporer Sport. When it comes time to get the AC fixed again, anyone have any idea how much it will cost me? A new compressor and clutch go for about $300. What other parts will need to be replaced? How much labor are we talking here?
