`92 Ford Explorer XLT
I have been reading posts from everyone on everything that you should and should not do to your explorer and what works and what flops so I decided to give you my experience with my mods. I have a 92 Explorer and the first thing wasn I tried some retreads from Treadwright Tires. I called the order in for 4 30x9.50x15`s. The person I talked to was very nice and the tires arrived within 2 weeks{took longer because I wanted BF Goodrich skins} They have been superior so far. it did`nt take much to balance which some thought they would because of retreads and the ride like a dream. Next was a flowmaster 40 catback and A+ on that. it has been on 2 weeks but is already getting a nice growl to it. Then came the KKM Sport Induction Kit which took 30 min to put on mainly because i am very picky and wanted it to set just right. Then there was the BBK throttle body and took 15 min on that. Had to set the idle up alittle but that was it. The biggest notice was after the BBK. Very noticeable improvement in throttle response. It will set you back from a start and not as much later on but still noticeable. i did`nt put all on at once, wanted to see how each one worked. I still have my diamond crystals to go in yet along with a 2" suspension lift. After eveything so far my explorer has been improved, nothing earthshattering but has raised my friends eyebrows{especially taking off from a stop light} I would give eveything an A++ so far and I want to thank everyone for all their input on all the products. I would say Serious Explorations upgraded my Explorer. Thanks again

I'm glad your explorer experience is going well.

You will love the look with that lift.

And the daimond clears are sick.

Yes I am psychic.

That`s Scary!! That`s one sweet ride you`re building. How is it coming along?

got any pics?
or video clip for exhaust sound?
What size cone filter is the kkm?
Sounds sweet. I just did a 2inch lift with 31's and now working on exhaust and intake, your setup sounds nice.

Sorry, no pics yet or sound clips. I will tell you that the installer of my exhaust had the same setup and I will agree with him. The KKM is alot cheaper than K&N because with the KKM you are just buying the cone filter and mountings. On the KKM the filter is slanted on the base so there is room for the cone to fit without hitting anything and it is chromed on the ends so it does look good but I also purchased the outerwears prefilter which covers the cone so everything is black. He went with 2 1/4 from the cat all the way back. i asked about going 2 1/4 to the muffler the 2.5 on back but he said this has worked the best with him and he has had no complaints and he does alot of them! The KKM gives you a pretty good growl when you step on it, the flowmaster 40 enhances it and the BBK puts you in your seat!. I know some have not had that kind of response but I can tell you that it worked for me. With the Flowmasters you can tell they are there but they are not annoying either, just a deep tone.

where did you get the bbk?

I got it from Summit Racing for 212.00 shipping included.
