Upgrade Cup Holders?

I am dissapointed with the cup holders. They are not very deep and dont have a good size/taper so they dont really hold drinks well from what I have seen. Is there a way to put an aftermarket insert in there or something to make them more usable?

Are You sure there is not a little rubber lining inthem? Somae cupholders have a rubber insert placed in them to hold smaller cups. It is very hard to see though.....It just pulls out if it is in there BTW

bloody americans and their obsession with driving and drinking soda, and muching on hamburgers. i personally think that the cup holder is the most stupid inovation in modern motering, that space could have been utilised for a much more use full purpose

Well, my other car is a 300ZX and I dont have or need a cup holder in that because its for fun. The X is a daily driver and should come with decent cup holders because I like to carry drinks sometimes. They are already there anyway, they just dont work well. I am sure there is a way to put an insert in there to make them more functional.

Can you believe that the black plastic inserts for the console cup holders cost around $20 each at Ford??

Yeah well im pissed with the cup holders too. The other day I went to McDonald’s and got me a large coke…..the damn thing did not fit in the cup holder! I mean what sort of drink do they think you are going to have in there?

Autozone has a two cupholder thing that will hold the biggest drinks from Mcd's or anywhere. I got it for $4.99 I think. The next model up even came with some misc crap space.

Thank goodness our rigs' cupholders are much better than Honda Civics. My girlfriend's Civic's cupholders can't hold sh*t!!! I mean, cups and bottles will fit in there but its design is too shallow so whenever you accelerate, those damn bottles and cups would tip over and spill the liquid all over the gear selector and the carpet. My truck's cupholders are perfect for my needs.
