I ordered some Moog upper control arms for my 1998 4.0 SOHC 2wd. I was wondering if using the stock cam adjusters is okay or do i need to use the moog adjuster kit?

If I use the stock bolts which have preset camber, will I have issues? I cant find any threads talking about this issue. I just see some that explain how to switch them out but thats it.

I want to know what happens if I keep the stock adjusters in with the one piece arms?

Thanks.

If you want your aligment to be correct you will need to get the adjuster kits.

Ok I found the kit. I will order it. When it comes in Im going to need to do a rough camber adjustment i assume. Do I just get the rotor vertical(level) and thatll be good enough for the shop?

I just got the 3/8" cutouts in the adjustment cam as close to vertical and drove it to a nearby alignment shop. The last one I did 3 of the 4 camber caster adjustments were in spec before they aligned it.

Ok so to adjust just snug them up and use a 3/8" socket and rotate the cam then torque it down?

Eyeball it and it’ll be more than good enough for the ride to the shop. How much “out” you need will vary depending on how you have your suspension height set up...so if you want to make any adjustments to right height/level/etc, do it before the alignment.

I hold the cam in place with a 3/8 breaker bar (could use a ratchet as well) and torque it down.
