Aloha,

I have a 1997 Explorer XLT and I need to replace my upper control arms. I ordered the control arms, which both were 1 piece, and noticed afterwords the passenger side upper control arm is a two piece design. My question is will, I be able to use the 1 piece control arm instead of the original 2 piece design? Anyone's help is greatly appreciated!

you shouldn't have any issues at all. I would install the camber thingies backwards though. You'll see what I mean when you take the control arms off and put them back. The little cams, easier to get to that way.

Thank you for your help.

the only thing you may have a problem with is when you get a alignment is if you need the caster to be adjusted (forward or rearward tilt of the steering knuckle)

That shouldn't be an issue if the technician has a clue. They may try and tell you it can't be adjusted, but in that case, they're either ill-informed or just plain lazy.

Thank you for your help. I'm going to install the upper control arms this weekend.
