I have a 2000 EB 5.0 Explorer. I'm about to replace the upper control arms... and for the passenger side, I was wondering the difference in the one piece Moog setup and the two piece Moog setup, and which one is recommended and why.

Thanks in advance,

Aric

There really is no difference. The two piece is a remnant from an older design and I guess that means the one piece is more "modern".

My Explorer came stock with one of each from the dealer ! :)

Ok well I have the Moog two piece now, and I think I'm gonna stay with it, since apparently it allows a wider degree of adjustablility? Not exactly sure, but that's what I read.

I'm planning on replacing both upper control arms and lower ball joints, as well as both inner tie rods and both tie rod ends, as well as the bushings for the stablizer bar, all using Moog parts.

Does anyone have any other recommendations? Sound like I'm getting all the necessary parts to get the front suspension and steering like new again?

Thanks in advance

the 2 piece allows a higher degree of adjustment on the caster.

But if it needs caster adjustment - then something must be bent - either the arm itself or maybe the knuckle.
