After contacting Ford customer care and explaining I was very frustrated with the failed updates I was assured the new PCM update would permanantly fix the issue. I explained that with 34,000 miles and only 2,000 remaining on my warrenty I was worried I would be left holding the bag in the end and that I thought it was reasonable to expect they cover the trans for a longer period of time. What I received was a service letter stating they would cover all repairs to the trans for 5 years or 75,000 miles. Worth a call and the 20 minutes of time...

Good to know

Since they did the re-programming, have you had any issues? Mine was done today and so far so good.

Wow Bojans!

I guess i will be calling next week as i am OVER 36k (39k) and in the same boat!

I am over 1000 miles since the update and no issues. Other than coming out to a dead battery this morning...

I have a 2006 v8 limited and have noticed it shifts a little rough especially going into first when stopping. Do you know if this is related to your issue. I have also awoken to a random dead battery on occasion. Please let me know your thouhgts,

Thanks,

Bill

I bought my 2006 Limited in november and noticed the shift problem pretty quick. I printed out the TSB and called the dealership where I bought it. I took it in with the TSB and they told me that they did the repair as outlined in the bulletin. In all honestly I've only driven it for a couple of days since but I haven't noticed it back so all good so far. I'll update if anything else changes but I have my fingers crossed because it was really annoying me. Oh yah ... and no dead batteries.
