I was working on my X the other day and notice that the hose that goes from the IAC valve to the intake box is loose at the IAC end.

It has lots of play and can easily be moved up and down the large nipple that it conects to. I wonder if it should be an airtight connection? I remember way back when it was newer it was mounted on securely.

I also cut up that hose and modified it when I switched to the Volant intake. I wonder if that loose fitting could be causing the vacum leak that I am experiencing.

Also the IAC Valve gets very hot, maybe from being over used- this got me thinking that the valve was not getting the proper amount of air or struggling to get the air into the IAC valve.

I am thinking either the rubber part of the IAC hose that connects to the manifold is leaking air or the modifications that the volant intake uses is effecting things. The Iac tube could also be clogged.

Any thoughts on this?
