my brother has a 1994 explorer 4.0L cologne engine and he had to replace the head gasket on it but in the process he took all of the vacuum hoses off but did not document where they went is there any one that can point me in the right direction.

Welcome.

I would suggest some good old searching the forum and a manual.

Good Luck

so far the manual had been no help or at least the one that he has. i shall try the forums.

thank you

There are lots of very skilled guy/gals here, I am sure someone will give a helping hand.

Definitely spend some time searching and you will find lots of information.
If you get no help tonight, try bumping up the post tomorrow at a time you think more people may be on.

Good luck again.

There should be an EPA sticker next to the hood latch. That will get you most of the hoses.
In addition there is a hose for the automatic transmission (if supplied) and the cabin air environment controls.

Most everything meets at the vacuum tree on the rear of the intake manifold - driver side.

Generally speaking that's it. There are peculiarities in each year. Ask if there's any open ports on the tree or extra hoses. Pictures help tremendously.
