On my 2010 passanger side the vanity light no longer works. The plastic piece on the cover broke off long ago, but now the light is out. Any advice on replacing either just the light or the whole assembly?

to remove the over head counsole there is one screw in in the garage door opener spot the whole assembly will come down there is two other screws once you get it down that have to come out to get to the light it will be the drivers side i believe. 1L2Z-13783-BA is the part number for the lens ~$30 from ford

also from here http://www.oemfordpart.com/auto-par...-v6-gas-engine/body-cat/overhead-console-scat
the whole thing is ~$250

Rcflyer330, I'm afraid I wasn't too clear on what I was asking about. The advice you gave is right on the money for what I said, but it isn't what I wanted. I should have been much more clear and said that the vanity light is located in the passenger side sun visor, not the console. I apologize for not being clear on that. Once I reread it, I see I goofed up on this. Thanks for taking the time to reply to my lame request.

the subject of the thread did say "Vanity light in sunvisor"
I looked into replacing the bulbs with led's that quest did not go far and gave up, couldn't find anyone that made a replacement bulb in led.... I would imagine replacing the unit as a whole could get pricy but it looked like a small screwdriver could pop off the lens

well apparently my brain is not working while i was writing that description some where in the back of my mind it was telling me it was the sunviser light but I kept ignoring it. my bad sorry

here is the correct link to the whole sunviser part

http://www.oemfordpart.com/auto-parts/2010/ford/explorer/xlt-trim/4-0l-v6-gas-engine/body-cat/interior-trim-roof-scat

here is the lens for the sunvisor
http://www.oemfordpart.com/ford/explorer/5f2z17c706aa/2010-year/xlt-trim/4-0l-v6-gas-engine/body-cat/interior-trim-roof-scat/?part_name=lens

from searching google the bulb is a "festoon" or "fuse" type 29mm x 6mm bulb #6614F .

edit by cover you don't mean the lens cover right you are talking about the cover you flip up and under it is the mirror and the lights?
if it is that part i would say ebay or local junkyard to find it. if i find one online i will post a link.
