umm... coins, coins and more coins, but no pennies, only silver! lol. and my cell phone gets placed in the cup holder when i am in the truck (i have one of them 'where did it go' tiny cell's that get lost all the time, i wish i wouldn't of got one so small) and thats about it
i use my cupholders to hold cups. i use the other smallest "hole" to hold my garage door opener. one of the two larger squares holds my sunglasses. the other holds a bunch of gas station receipts, pennies, and whatever else gets tossed in there. my wife just put a box of tissue in that tissue holder thing so it's getting used again. thats about it.
My CB is mounted to the pass side of the pockets. My garage door opener, knight rider controller, wigwag controller, and N2O are mounted on the driver side. I have many switches in the kleenex holder area. Use the cup holder for cups, ashtray for trash. 2 gauges mounted in the upper pocket, lower pocket for sunglasses and misc.
If I was a 4x4 guy (which I'm not), I would mount a CB in the top location in the open box, and cut a little out of the back so the CB could fit threw. Then I would put plexiglass around the open area to give it a flush look. I thought about putting a plexiglass plate in the open box and then mounting switches in it, but I don't know if that would work or not. Since I just took out my 6 disc changer, I might mount some switches on the inside of the counsel.
on the lincoln navigators with second row buckets w/ console we always call it a porta-pottie, but one of the coolest things i've seen for real was a guy who disassembled his liner sleave, foam lined/sealed around it then tapped the bottom and hooked-up a run-off hose through the floor of his truck and turned it into a cooler
that looks awesome. id love to do something like that (its prolly a helluva lot cheaper than an in dash tv), but i dont know if i could sacrifice those lil storage cubbies. i usually just keep my cellphone, wallet, and other random pieces of crap in there.
I mounted a 12V cigarette lighter adapter down in the tissue box holder slot and I plug my hands free cell phone holder in there (no more holding a cell while driving in NY ) It sits there right next to me where ever we go . I figured, what the hell, I'm not actually gonna put tissues in there... that's what they makes sleeves for.
Aldive; have you read about the "Texas Cleanex-box" that GJarrett built into his console.... it is on his link with info about his mods.
BigTigExplorer; that does look awesome! What a nice install.
i use the little cubby thing in front for my stereo remote and gum or other misc crap! the little rectangle thing by the cupholders, i put my cell phone in there. and the cupholders retain there original function. the tissue box thing holds a peice of metal (ghetto rigged) that my hella's switch is mounted to. but i left enough room for another switch, dont know what though.
