Help! I have a mystery problem and hope somebody else has run into it and has an answer. When the engine is fully warmed up and I am running at hightway speeds if I accelerate or am going up a grade the engine changes sound - makes a noise kind of like a Harley accelerating- and there is a vibration felt throughout the car and in the steering wheel. If I let up on the gas everything goes back to normal instantly. I tried switching off the OD and it doesn't make any difference. The car is in the dealer's shop, they said the vibration is definately there but they cannot find the cause.
It is an '06 Explorer, 2 wheel drive, V8, automatic, heavy duty tow package with 26000 miles.
