Hello,

My 2001 AWD Explorer XLT has a vibration on the front end. It's really rough (like washboards on a dirt road) between 20 and 45. It evens out quite a bit after that, but it still vibrates.

I have changed the u-joint, shocks and stabilizer bars. I have also had my tires rotated and balanced 3 times. Wouldn't the balancing machine be able to catch a bad tire?

Has anyone else had this problem? What was it, and how do I fix it?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated at this point.

Thank you!

One of your tires could be separeted but you would think the tire shop would have found that.

sounds like inner/outer tierods. Mine was pretty rough (steering wheel felt like it was bouncing back and forth), changed the tie rods. Shake is GONE. pretty simple and inexpensive fix
