Hello
My 98 Explorer XLT 4X4 has 17K miles. It seems to have a vibration, which has intensified over the last 6 months. The problem is felt when reaching speeds in excess of 70 mph.The vibration becomes pronounced when reaching 75-90 mph. There is no shaking in the steering wheel. It can be felt in the entire vehicle. The wheels have been balanced twice. Still no change. The wheel lugnuts are torqued at 100lbs. It seems that when the front tires are in the back the problem decreases slightly. I have inspected both drive shafts and found no missing weights. Could the problem be in the tires or prematurely worn shocks? Or in something else that spins?
