Visible sparking!

98 4.0 OHV, has been hesitating for a while, and just now while looking around I saw visual sparking at one of the plugs! I've got the new plugs ready to go, and Magnecor wires on the way, but is there anything else I should be looking at? It just seems to come from one plug, the rearmost on the driver side...

Pull that plug wire and inspect it...sounds like it has a tear. Also check the vehicle body ground cables.

Thank-you for the tip. I had a look at the lead and it looked fine, so then replaced the plug and no more hesitating and no more sparking!

I can't believe it took me so long to diagnose and fix such a simple problem! It's sure nice having so many nice people on this forum to be able to ask a dumb question to!!!

I helped my dad fight with my mom's blazer for DAYS.

the wire from the coil to the distributor had a crack in the sheath.
only reason we found it, was because I swapped ends around.

felt kinda dumb not checking it sooner, as we literally spent days trying to figure out the issue.
