i was surfing through some classified ads and i came across this guy that said he can beat any price on anything as long as he can get it. After a few emails back and forth he finually logged onto AIM and i had a converstaion with the guy.

Turns out he only carries Visonik and he is trying to tell me that that brand is better than JL Audio and Rockford Fosgate when it comes to amps. http://audiovideoone.com/store/p003295.htm now this is not the guys site but this is the amp he was trying to sell me. How can a amp with those power ratings be better than a brand name and cost a fraction of the price?

Has anyone ever had any experience with this brand? I am just curious if they are garbage or not.

The brother you designed audiobahn is now in charge or Visonik and is doing an amazing job. I am at the store that is one of the biggest dealers of Visonik amps and subs. My friend has two visonik 700 watt 12's in a sealed box, running off of a 1200 watt visonik amp and it bumps like crazy! No they are not better then JL Audio but they are better then AudioBahn, and Rockford. Visonik is good stuff but not great like Jl Audio.

nah stick with rockford or audiobahn visonik is a decent amp but look at the ratings 1000x1 at 1ohm stable bridged. Firstly you will lose power when you bridge that you will not get a true 1000 watts. Secondly that is a 2 channel amp if you want serious sound go with a class D mono block amp. Now it may be 1ohm stable but running a sub and amp combo like that is not good cause you are really pushing both to the limits. Unless you keep the dial down (which face it most of us cant) it wont last long. 1/2 ohm stable please i hate how companys say that but guess what they never tell you how long they played it at 1/2 ohm or 1 ohm stable most of the time it is like 5 second burts of pure sine notes too. My Rockford Fosgate is 1500x1 at 2ohms and that is still pushing it i have 4 fans for it to keep it cool and DO NOT crank the bass boost up. Seriously that amp is $300 for a reason im not saying visonik is not good cause they are and they are used some in the dbdrag races but seriously its just not good to be running a amp like that on a daily basis at 1ohm. That is meant for competition only or played on limited occasions.

I am curious how you loose power when you bridge a amp. If a amp is designed to run 1 ohm mono why would there be a problem. I remeber running Orion High Curent amp into 1/4 loads and never having a problem.
I have been in the business for the last 14 year and know there has been a lot of crap come and go.

it says that it is 1x1000 @1ohm bridged. Now if it were 1x1000@1ohm that would be different. thats the thing that is not a mono channel amp it is a class a/b read the specs and let me know if im not understanding it correctly.

After a long conversation with the guy i am pretty much convinced that he is a bullshit artist or at least a very poor salesman. I saved the AIM conversation that i had with him so that i can show my friends how much of a cornball he was.

How many of you know about audio instals? I have a question. I was trying to get an amp to push my Eclipse because my Rockford Fosgate i had recently **** the bed. It is a dual voice coil sub which has dual 4 ohm voice coils. Now i can run it in either parellel or series. If i run it in parellel that speaker will have a 2 ohm load and if i run it in series that speaker will have a 8 ohm load. Now all the connections are made at the speaker itself.

This guy was telling me to run an amp in stereo and from what i can make out of it he wanted me to connect one coil to the left channel of the amp and the other coil to the right channel of the amp. He was telling me that it would have better sound quality that way but i cant see how because both channels get differnt signals at differnt times and i am not about to damage my $500 sub. I can honestly say that i have never heard of that type of connection and if he is right and i am wrong then thats fine but i just want to know the truth.

Does anyone know leenjen personally? Can one of you guys tell him to read this post and answer my quesion about this guys wiring ideas?

If anyone is interested in reading the conversation i can post it here.

Im no Audio expert, but i know i thing or two! ;)

What is it your trying to run? Just the one Eclipse sub? Need more info! :)

leenjen helped me on how i had to wire my dvc 4ohm stoker. What you need to do is run both the positives from the sub into the + on the amp and both the negatives on the sub to the - on the amp. Now what that guy said is correct about running a channel per voice coil you can do it but it wont be as loud as a mono channel amp. Seriously though you say your eclipse is 1000watts than get a class D mono block 1 channel amp and that sucker will kick. Dont skimp on a solid amp. What RF amp took a dump on you?

Yes i want to push just this one 15in if i can get a good deal on an amp ... if not then i am going to sell the sub. I see some killer deals on ebay but i am afraid of ebay more than i am afraid of vampires and ghosts. Everyone tells me that ebay will reimburse you if you get ripped off but i dont know. Its taking a chance.

The amp that i had was a punch 100ix which was the old school fosgate it said on it that it was only 100 watts RMS bridged but in reality it was alot more than that. They underrated them so they could be in competitions and smoke everyone. It was getting old and it wasnt stable at 2 ohms which is what i was running it as and it finually burned up and caught on fire while i was driving. Luckily my friend noticed it and i ripped it out from under the rear seat before i got carpet damage.

I pulled it apart and it looks like a transistor blew and it set off a chain reaction and everything on that circuit blew up.

LOL that is some funny ****. 100watts rms bridged **** that is not enough for that sub. Ebay is not bad as long as you dont buy it used and from a person. Only buy audio from dealers and people that have online stores.

Here are three links from ebay i have personally bought from both of the first two and they are great ebayers. I havent bought from the person selling the kicker but he has a good feedback rating, is a verified seller, has online store, and is a power seller. You cant go wrong with anyone of those amps they are all mono block amps that are 2ohm stable. I dont know what your price range is but they are pretty cheap a hell of alot cheaper than retail for sure! I asked a local audio dealer about bridging amps (he competes on a regular basis) and he told me he would never bridge an amps power because it will cut the amps life in half. He said definetly go with a mono block amp. He said you would be able to out play 2 15s bridged off a 1000 watt amp (you name the brand) if you had 1 15 with a true 1000 watt mono block amp. Ask someone near you and see what they say I bet they will agree. Of course amps arent everything Box is another important thing but lets not open that up yet.

Those were in the price range i was looking to pay and i have a friend that has that punch 1000 and is pushing the identical sub i am. That may be the one i go with. Thank you for posting those links.
