With version 3.5.1 when I would say "Play artist the rolling stones" I would get this:

I believe "Die" and "Les" are foreign equivalents of "The." Selecting ANY of those takes me to the rolling stones.

Sure enough, anytime I'd use voice commands with a band with a "the" in front, I would get those options.

The Who for example:

(I'm not sure where it was even getting the "'Oo" as I've never had anything remotely similar in my music collection.)

Soggy Bottom Boys:

Well, when I first upgraded to 3.6.2 it looked like it had fixed it. However, after several re-indexes and one reboot using the reboot stick (as the system had gotten slaggy), those screens are now back.

Anyone else care to report if they are having a similar issue?

Additionally, while fooling around with that stuff, trying to reproduce it, I got this:

TOM AND JERRY????? WHAT THE???? I don't have a Tom and Jerry artist in my collection?!?!?!?

So, I did a bit of Googling and found that Simon and Garfunkel called themselves Tom and Jerry early on. Sure enough, if you do "play artist Tom and Jerry" it plays Simon and Garfunkel.

Perhaps an Easter Egg from a Simon and Garfunkel MFT engineer?

And here I though Tom & Jerry were cartoon characters. :D:thumbsup:

If you have the gracenote database turned on, then it will use the id3 tags provided by gracenote (which might include alternate artist names, etc). I assume this is where it's getting the info from.

I have gracenote turned off, but I suspect it has something to do with it.

However, I don't understand why you would give an option screen for a user when all options lead to the same thing? Why give the option screen for Les Rolling Stones, Die Rolling Stones, etc... when they all go to the same stufF?

It's Ford, it's not for us to understand, only for us to question ;)

I think the 'OO is the funniest. I bet that its for the UK pronunciation of the who - just imagine how a UK accent would say the who.

Can anyone else try and verify if they are experiencing the same behavior? If so, I will report it as a bug in the bug thread. If not, I'll try and figure out why it is happening to me.
