voltage regulator

I have a 2006 Explorer and my problem is i have gone thru 3 batterys and 3 alternators in the last year and a half. the voltage regulators keep going out and boils out my battery... any help would be greatly appreciated.

Do you have off road lights or a speaker setup that would cause an unusually large amount of power draw on the system?
