I'm looking to get new tires pretty quick but the thing is I work at a Super Wal-Mart and we have a tire and lube here so it would be obvious to take advantage of my 10%. But I found a particular review site that suggests that people really like Firestone Destination LE's but doesn't
even get into some of the tires Wal-Mart has for me. I would like to
get 225-70-R15's. I live in IA and we have a decent sized Winter ya know. I called a local tire place that does Firestones and they want
I think 100 or 110$, can't remember per Destination LE. Can I compromise on any Wal-Mart, maybe a Michelen they have or somehting?
Thank if anyone can help me think this out..

michelin LTX M/S is one of the best tires. They wear great, good in the weather/snow, and run a low pressure so the ride is nice.

and $100 seems insane to me for a 225/70/15...

You could recomend me somethin? I'm all ears..

my dad has michelin mtx m/s on his jeep cherokee and his silverado and they are great tires...

get super swamper ltbs... they are super cheap

i've used prospector at's, they're made by one of the bigger companies, michelin i think. They were really good for an at and pretty cheap.

Why do you want 225's? Do you mean 235's?

I guess I picked up from another thread that you may get slightly better
mileage from the smaller tire perhaps, some disagree I know but whatever..

I may not be trying to afford tires this week anyway I guess, too much
money already spent lately..

I'll second the vote for these...

Take a look at the Goodyear Wrangler HP(P), there are a couple guys running these here and they do pretty good.

It's got Goodyear Wranglers on it now, I don't know how old they are
but whoever didn't rotate the tires, I did a while back but just not sure
if I want to make it through the winter on these though.

Ok, I've done some looking from the review linkage on this forum and it
appears as though these are my choices (right now)..

Uniroyal Laredo Cross Country (225x70 or 235x75) $90 (rating 4.2)

BF Goodrich Commercial T/A All Season (235x75) $89 (rating 4.0)

I see this post is about 3 weeks old...but....I see you work at Wally World also.. ..Did you find and buy any tires yet?

Thought I'd share with you all that I ended up getting Goodyear Tracker 2's (235x75) from Wal Mart. These cost me $322 after 20% off Holiday discount. Anyway these Tracker 2 are pretty new I guess and supposed to be an improvement over the original Tracker. I'm not a Goodyear freak or anything but the Uniroyal I wanted to get
would have been ordered which means if I needed a tire in
emergency situation they would have to order one and take
about 5 days to get there also the Tracker 2 only cost $83,
a little cheaper. Turns out the Uniroyal is the tire my gf just
got on her Rodeo a couple months ago and I know that tire
is good with all the sipes and deep lugs. Except hers are like 245x70x16 though.

This tire doesn't look too bad, the tread could be a little deeper but it has sipes and so far it's cutting through the snow and ice great, big difference. I'm in IA and we've been getting weather the last few days
but so far they work great for me. I hope I don't have any
Goodyear type thumping out of these later, as a matter of
fact one of the Goodyear Wranglers that was on when I
bought the Ex had a slight thump and they had a lot of weather side wall cracking.

Good job.....I was going to tell you that the Walmart brand tires are made by several different companys..It all depends on what location and the bid/batch price..Goodyear,Firestone and Michellin are 3 that make the tires and WalMart rebadges them with a different name..example..The Super Sports!!
I used my 20 percent off on a all in one copier/scanner/fax machine!! I still payed to much! :D

Rotate the tires w/ea oil change and they will last much longer w/no thimps.
