O paul, thats funny, Ive looked at the picture of your truck too many times, but it looks green in those pictures and blue in the little one on the message board. Geeeze. I still love the bumper but Im just worried about the 2 inch gap..... hmmm Also I built a custom roof rack. and im going to connect it to the roof rack but, its kinda shaky, are the factory rails safe or should i get a bold on roof rack?

wowwwwwwwwwwww

yeha Man Paul I've been lookin for you for ages since I saw your rig in the readers rides with that Duff bumper!

I wanted to ask when your ordered your Duff bumper...cuz if you look at the pic at the start of this thread, you'll notice how the outside bottom tubes of the bumper look "flatter" than on yours. I wrote a letter to Duff asking if this was really the case cuz I wanted it just like yours..I was thinking either yours was an older model, or maybe even a Ranger design..? Either that or the pic just makes the tubes look wrong.

I'd love to see more detailed pics of your rig with the bumper too..I've got a '93 Sport so it'd be pretty close..

ThanX!!! :D

Just an update for those of you who are interested in the receiver bumper. I talked to James Duff earlier today and they have had a few delays in development. The guy i spoke to said they should be ready by early summer. They are supposed to contact me with a price as soon as one is ready. I'll let everyone know when they do contact me. As a side note for those who are emailing them, I have had much better luck getting answers/information out of them on the phone as opposed to email. Their phone staff is very knowledgeable and helpful.

Green ??

Don't know why it looks green to you, looks "Crystal Blue" to me . . .

As for the gap, why don't you fab a spacer plate that has an "L" angle to it? That way it'll fill the space caused by the body lift. Most metal shops could do it with diamond tread aluminum plate in a minute.

As for the roof rack, I wouldn't mount much to the existing factory rails . . . too freakin' flimsy. Guess it really depends on what you plan on throwing up there. I stow my Hi-Lift jack and a 2 gallon gas can on mine when I wheel, and could also toss up the spare, but its empty when I'm not four wheeling.

You're right, my bottom tubes are a bit different from the one shown in the photo. Never noticed that before... I ordered it back in December '98, and the catalog photo at the top of this thread was the same as when I ordered mine. I do remember the guy I talked to on the phone saying that they actually made them once ordered (at least for the Explorers), instead of just pulling them off the parts rack. Maybe the guy who built mine was feeling artistic - - or maybe he dropped it on one end and decided it would be easier to bend the other side than to straighten it out . . . Either way, its been a great addition to the rig - - Now to just figure out how to cram that winch under/behind it.

Way too much rambling - - pics are on the way to both of you guys.

Just thought everyone would like to know I finally got an email back from JD. The front rec. bumper is in stock now. The cost is $335. I think that is a little high. I can get a bumper fab'd for $425 that I think will be much stronger.

95 explorer?

maybe this was answered earlier, but will any of the cool prerunner bumpers fit 95 and later explorers, even with some fabbing etc. it would be worth it.
