I want to install a new Heavy-Duty Liner for my explorer. I am willing to do it myself I just need to know where to buy the stuff and what brands if any are good to buy. I am primarily doing this to extend the life of the cargo area because stock carpet isn't going to hack it.

I have researched quite a bit and my results have produced premolded entities as well as floor mats that you put over your cargo area but I am looking to INSTALL a new heavy-duty liner or vinyl material in order for construction/off road conditions for stuff I may need to throw in the back. Any help or guidance would be MUCH appreciated. Thanks again for the help.

Two options in my opinion: Molded liner like a Husky Liner, or remove the carpet and trim and coat it with spray-on BedLiner material. (Line-X is my preference)

I have researched HUSKY as well as WEATHERTECH and other lay-in Liners but I want something more permanent and may end up doing the method in which you have prescribed if all else fails. But I do know that there is a vinyl material out there that i can put it Ihave seen it and felt it myself Ijust need to know where to get it. I lost the contact of the person I saw it with.

If you don't care about aesthetics, you can use some belting material from an old conveyor belt. It will also help cushion things and keep things from rattling.

Truck Bed Mat

I have an old bed mat I was gonna put in mine its super tough, and there cheep

I have a Husky liner in the back of my 2nd gen Eddie Bauer and love it. Much more sturdy that the Ford OEM product and comes out quickly for cleaning and dumping out the crud that builds up back there. A worthy investment. I don't remember what I paid for mine, but I did get a screaming deal from an EF poster who was clearing them out for his employer. I highly recommend them over the Ford offering.
