I have a 1996 X AWD 5.0 with about 220,000 miles and I am in the process of replacing the tires and wanted to lift it some. Which is the best way? Which is the cheapest way? Which will not do to much damage to the drive terrain and need a lot of customization? :feedback:

Good start here: http://www.explorerforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=208483:D

I went with a torsion twist and shackles in the rear. Very inexpensive way to lift and takes only an hour to do for about 2" of lift. Seems the next option from there is to do a body lift. Most choose the 3" body lift. Then there are more expensive options. The link above will lead you to all of the info you need to make an informed choice!
