My 17yr old stepdaughter has become quite found of my wife's 93 X. So me and my wife decided that next april when she turns 18 we're going to hand down the 93 to her. However, this means putting in some serious work. So I'm turning to the only place I know of to get solid X advice, you guys :).

Here's the issues

  • Rear bumper got hit and is pushed in
  • rear is sagging
  • needs all new brakes and tires
  • Full tune-up: spark plugs, all fluid flushed, all new filters, new belts
  • Front auto hubs are all gunked up; debating taking them apart and cleaning or buying new ones
  • Center armrest needs to be replaced
  • both front seats need to be replaced
  • both inside front door panels need to be replaced because the handles broke
  • new muffler
  • needs new Fuel Pump Relay
  • the body panel below the doors on the outside are rusting out.
  • the front doors need new hinges
  • sunroof leaks
  • rear windshield wiper doesnt work
  • I think the ignition cylinder is broke
There's a few other issues but i can't remember.

So here are some ideas I have for the X:

  • New Intake
  • Dynomax Quiet Flo 3 muffler
  • Clear corners
  • Silverstars
  • new head unit, amp and a 10" sub in the back
  • 15" teardrops

Any suggestions, tips, or tricks I should know? prolly gonna start this fall but doing research now.

thx

Couple things i know from work on my 92,

Hubs, scrap the auto ones and get the warn manuals, way way way better! cost me around $200 at my local offroad shop.

The door pannels, do not need to be replaced, on ebay you can buy the handle replacements! they ran me about 30bucks.

the hinges just need new door pins, 8 bucks from local auto parts store. but they are a pain in the rear end to do!

just some of my thoughts, i hope it was helpful!

I saw the handle replacement thing on ebay prior to posting this, but I also need the light assemblies and figured the only way a scrap yard would sell me those is if I got the entire panels.

If the truck was going to be for me or my wife I'd w/o a question switch to manual hubs. But my stepdaaughter is a stereotypical blonde and I just want her to be able to push the button and go, ya know?

As for the rear windshield wiper, you might just consider removing it and shaving the rear. Mine hasn't worked in years but it doesn't really make a difference without it.

your biggest obstacle to over come is going to be the rust on the rocker panels. i would get a few estimates on the repair b4 you start throwing money into other things. just my opinion though.
