I have a 93' X with a 4 inch Trailmaster lift on it. When I lived in Alaska I had a plow mount on it. I no longer have it on the X. I think they may have put a spacer in the front coils to lvl it out. now that the plow mount is off it sit's nose high. I am wondering what would be the best plan to lvl it out try to find the stock spacers or go with the war 153 shackles. If I use the shackles would I need to worry about the drive shaft since it has the 4 inch lift on it already? I am just looking for a way to get it to set lvl. any input worry be helpful. Thanks

...I'm not sure what you mean by stock spacers??..

..The warrior shackles will not affect your drive line as it will only lift the body...You might also want to look at add a leafs (AAL's). A little stiffer ride but will hold loads and give lift in the rear..:dunno:

first off, we need pictures. especially if you have one with the plow on it.

second, you may not have a spacer in there. they may have put a slightly bigger coil in there to bring it up. if it is a spacer, all you had to do is take the coil out, remove the spacer, and reinstall.

sorry dont have any pic's with the plow! I dont have it any longer I believe there is a spacer/bushing in the bottom of the coil seat. I am thinking that a thicker one was in staled to lvl it due to the plow mount weight. the war shackles should lvl it since it only loooks 1.5 to 2 inches lower. but I was wondering the easier fix the shackles or find the stock I guess they would be bushings where the coils sit.

That's not entirely accurate. If the rear is sagged ~1.25" then, yes, it will not affect your driveline angles. But if the rear is not sagged and you add the WAR153 shackles it'll lift the rear ~1.25" and effectively change your pinion angle due to the rear of the spring being dropped down.

... This would be true on fresh leafs but I'm going to take a shot in the dark here with the info he posted...

...If he just added new springs I would have mentioned the variation in the pinion angle...With now knowing his spacer is up front, I'm thinking it is equivalent to an F150 coil spacer about 1 1/2" plus usually used to level out an X... and it leads me to believe he has at least 1 1/4" sag and it's not leveled out since he is now wanting to lift the rear which is common, for the age of the vehicle on stock leafs...:dunno:

...I think I have a pic of the stock coil seat somewhere...It is only about 1/8" thick or so and if I can find it, I'll post it here..:D

shackles or spacers

I have had the lift on about 8 years now. when the trailmaster lift was installed it came with new rear springs so I don't believe that there is much sag, plus I have a helper spring bolted on for towing. the mount for the plow was 50-60 pounds, so the shop put some type of spacer in to lvl the front so it could be aligned. it could have been the f-150 spacers I am not sure and don't live there any longer so I have know way of knowing. guess what I am really trying to figure out is what would be easier to do the shackles or change the spacers back to the stock type? also is there any easy way to know what spacers are currently on the X? also the pinion angle with the war shackles I shouldn't have drive shaft issues correct? thanks!

...Adding the shackles would be cheapest and the easiest...Take a pic of the spacer and post it here, someone will know...I myself don't think you will have a pinion problem but others may chime in...

...Is this mainly a street veicle or do you offroad it often??

shackles

It is used as a daily drive now my son uses it for collage so not much off road at the moment. I will try to get some pictures in the next couple of days. Also the X is in need of new tires and an alignment would it be better to put the shackles on first or would it matter if I got the tires and ailment first? I want to get new shocks also but the shackles and shocks are a big chunck of change not to mention the tires and alignment. What would be the best order to do this? Thank for the input! :)

ive been hearing about these f-150 spacers.. what are they, i have a 94x, that sages in the front, and cant be aligned because of it.. will the spacesr help that? what are the years for the spaces from the f 150?

nice hijack. try a search.

Ak, always do parts before alignments. Some modifications don't' mess with the alignment, but it's better to save the alignment for later on. You don't want to change anything that'll possible wear down brand new tires. I vote you do shackles, shocks, then tires, then alignment.

...You can find the f150 coil seats in the "How To" in my signature..;)
