Like Brian, I could not bring myself to install the 1/2" bolts. I drilled the shackles out and installed 14mm bolts that were of proper length to fit the nut. I think this is probably the way they should have been made to begin with.

Grade 8 Shackle Bolts

Any thoguht on where to purchase 9/16" x 5" grade 8 bolts & nuts? Would an auto parts store stock these sizes, or a Home Depot?

Orchard supply and hardware has a very good supply of grade 8 nuts and bolts.
