Odd question, but were heated mirrors an option on the XLT trim? I'm just curious. Please indulge me. :p

Heated mirrors were never offered on the first generation Explorers. Just having power mirrors that folded away was touted as a premium feature on a truck-based SUV.

It wasn't until the car-ified second generation Explorer that heated mirrors would be introduced.

I always thought they were kind of gimmicky - but they sure are handy to have in the winter, when the mirrors get fogged up or even iced over. Sure beats having to get out in the snow and ice to check out what's behind the vehicle before backing up if the side windows are fogged up or iced over.

Wrong! My 94 LTD has Heated mirrors. Being in MN they work GREAT! Wish i had a Heated windshield like my 91 ford taurus

I was referring to the first gen. After some research, it came standard in Limited models, but I was just curious about whether it was even available on the XLT in 94. My XLT (94) has keyless, which I thought was reserved for the Limited, as well. It also has the dimming mirror with auto headlights. It just made me wonder what else it could have come with.

If you had them there would be a little graphic printed on the mirror of wavy lines going up.
