For a few days now every time I come home there is a puddle of water under my car. Well To test if it was the A/C I tired a few days with the A/C off, nope. Finally I got under the Explorer to see where the water was coming from. It's coming out of a little tiny hole in my muffler. It's a perfectly round hole, so it's not a defect. I figure it’s a drainage hole to let out any condensation that forms in the exhaust but should there be enough water coming out that I see a puddle?

It has been around 80-85 degrees, I am not sure of what the humidity % is but here in Southern California ITS DRY. Not sure if that makes any difference

essex did u feel the earthquake we had a few days ago

No, um back to the question. Hey do you know why my exhaust drips water?

Normal, Condensation(sp) will cause the water drops.

Yup, thats what i figured, i just wanted to be sure. Does every explorer have a tiny hole in the muffler? My old accord didn't have anything like that.

Please someone please answer my question

Whats the hole really for? Is it supposed to be there?

On a straight up guess I would say yes it is supposed to be there. If it is a perfectly round hole and water is collecting above it and it lets the water out of the exhaust, that would be a good thing.

Tail pipe too! I have puddles forming under the vehicle directly under the cup holder too... and a snail trail from the tail pipe...

Its supposed to be there. It allows water to drain, and i believe sout (sp) build up to excape.

Donner do you have a little tiny hole in your muffler too? I am not talking about exhaust tip, i have a little water coming out of there but the majority is coming from this tiny hole in my muffler.

I don't have an oem muffler... but it was checked and no leaks were found. They said it was draining...

What muffler do you have then?

I'm pretty sure it's a Magnaflow...

water comes out of the exhaust because when combustion occurs (oxygen+hydrogen=water) it makes water. water is a sign of good combustion
