Got my X stuck in the water/mud this weekend and it has caused a bunch of different electrical problems. First off the headlights will not shut off no matter what besides pulling the HL fuses or disconnecting the battery. Also the inside lights will not come on and i checked all the fuses under the dash in and under the hood, none of them were bad. Also the unlock button does not work the lock button does but not the unlocked. I checked everything i am so confused. I am unsure of what to do any thoughts guys?

Sounds like you killed some relays up under the dash.

as for the headlights I have no idea, but for the lock/unlock switch its probably a dirty or damp switch try taking them out and used compressed air to blow them out. I just had this issue yesterday.

Thanks i checked all checked all the fuses and i am still unsure about the headlights does anyone know where the relay for the headlights are or for the switch and the auto switch on the mirror because i have a limited. Also are there any other fuse boxes besides the ones under the hood and under the steer wheel? also any relays besides the ones under the hood? thanks

Did you remove the plastic door sill and check the wire channel for water? If not the entire wire harness could be sitting in 1.5" of water... Normally water in the channel isn't a problem, but will be if wires were spliced etc..

if you mean the one along the passenger side, yeah i pulled off that black strip and flushed out all the mud the took a shop vac to it so that it all cleaned up. I also found out that none of the unlock buttons work not even on the keyless entry remote. I have no clue where to look for the problem on that.

and to add the passenger power seat wires and harness were melted do you think this could have fryed other wires along the that bigg chuck of wires it goes into?

I found the problem it was at fuse 14 wierd thing is i checked it and it looked fine before. But now if i try to put one in it blows right away. What do you guys think is the best way to diag the problem. Any ideas where i should start looking? And anyone have any ideas on my the headlights never turn off? any help is great thanks
