Well today I decided it was time to test my rig after swapping in a motor, e-fan upgrade and a few other things.
I was very meticulous with the fan wiring. I used heat shrink tubing on all connections and forced clear silicone in the relay connector. I never even considered the fan wasn't water proof.
Went through a water hole, a long water hole... Barley made it out because my engine started to miss. Water in the coils. It wasn't until I got home that I noticed the temp was a little high.
Relay works and there is power at the fan, but it will not spin.
So I was hoping some one knew of a 16" fan that will hold up to this abuse.
Also I have seen the Accel coils in Summit Racing that say they are weather proof. Are these a good choice? Or can i goop silicone around my stock one to protect it?
The truck did fine by the way. I went through some stuff i didn't think I should have. But i was behind a buddy rolling on 38's and a diesel so i Knew I wasn't stuck there.
