So I washed my new 2006 Explorer XLT for the first time today... I used the 'High Pressure Spray' which seemed really powerful, and I noticed in a few places that the water/soap seemed to have gotten past the rubber and into the door a little bit. Maybe I just sprayed it directly too hard, but I am worried because I am installing a new sound system and the last thing I want is for my component speaker sets and dynomat to get wet. What can I do to better waterproof my doors?

Bump -

Check the weather stripping of each door and make sure they are connected properly by pushing upward, or check for looseness by slightly pulling down. Some of the stripping is held in places by clips, some parts just grip. If they are gripping, note where the leaks are and you could add an epoxy underneath that area of the stripping.

High pressure spray is not recommended...
