Is there any way to check a PCM with a multimeter?
Reason being, on a trip to florida the gauge cluster would completely go dead when the engines rpms were above 3k. After arriving back home I began to trouble shoot this issue. I was testing the voltage to the battery and even when the gauges went out the voltage at the battery was ~14 volts. I unpluged the battery to double check that the alternator was charging. When I did this the engine shut off. And now fuse # 18 will shoot any time the middle plug to the pcm is plugged in. key on or off. With the key in the on position and the middle plug inserted in the pcm fuse #41 blows. I cannot get the explorer to attempt to start nor can i get any reading of the odometer on the panel. I have looked at the wiring harness and cannot find a short.
Thank you for the help in advance.
