Hello all. I have been a member for some time but this is my first post. Thanks for the great posts
It started with a clunk noise. Them I notice that while slowly turning right both rear wheels are engaged like if you have welded shafts. A wheel spin in the grass confirmed posi traction (both wheel spins). As per ID label, it has a D2 - 4.1 limited slip.
Jacking up the rear end and turning the tires shows tire rotation in different directions. (I was expecting rotation in the same direction) So why the are lock when turning? Humm??
I have this truck (2001 ST 4X4) for about a year and the only service was replacing the differential yoke seal because it was leaking. I provided the mechanic with the Ford Friction modifier and the W75-140 Synth oil.
I'm questioning if the friction modifier was added?
Any one has a clue of other possible cause?
Thanks
