Hi, we have an '02 XLT that is doing some weird things. We have hit a deep freeze here in Calgary, not sure if this has anything to do with the issue or not.

Yesterday we were able to start the truck using the remote start, after it timed out I noticed that the marker lights were still on (this is about 10+minutes after it shut off). When I went to get into the truck the door locks were not working via the remote. Unlocked truck with key and noticed radio was on. Started truck, drove to get gas and when I shut truck off door lock did not work at all, radio and lights stayed on even after opening door. This happened when I got back home again. Radio and lights would not shut off at all. I disconnected the battery for a few minutes and when I hooked it back up things kinda worked. For the first couple of minutes when I hit the lock button the dash lights would turn off and then back on again. That seemed to straiten itself out. This morning exactly the same issue.

Wondering if anyone would have any ideas as to where I should start looking?

Look at the wire harness going to the driver's door. The wires can get stretched and frayed leading to shorts and odd behavior like you describe.

Perfect, thanks. I will have a look tonight.
