ok guys i have a 97 XLT and when i brake at slow speeds (usually when coming up to a stop sign) it makes a weird noise.. it's very very hard to explain the noise but it sounds sort of like a warped rotor, it soundsl ike a winding down of some sort.. the car also occasionally will sway a SMUDGE when it happens.. it dosen't seem to be getting any better or worse but im just curious if u think it's the rotors or something else? there is no grinding noise nor high pitched noises and it does not happen at high speed or hard braking.. any idea of what this could be or how to fix? thanks!

I know exactly what it is and I've had the same problem for a while.

#1 are these recently installed or new pads? If so are they the cheaper ones?

#2 did you do a "pad slap?" aka new pads without resurfacing the rotors?

there's a good chance its happening because the brake pads are just crapy.

Mine does the SAME exact thing. The hotter the brakes are the worse it gets.

yea i got new pads when i got the car from the dealer cause they were worn and squealing.. my braking is fine, no problems just that weird noise.. and no i doubt anything was done to the rotors...

Get your pads changed an a rotors turned. Don't use that same brand of pad again.
