Hey guys about a week ago i was starting my ex . when i cranked it over i was an idiot and let go before it started. so i started it again and there was like a fart sound from the engine. now when ever i start the ex it revs up to like 2000 and then stays for awhile. anyone know whats going on?

You may have popped a vacuum line or cap from the "octopus" when it "farted". Check your vacuum connections.

Bump!!! Anyone?

So I guess all vacuum lines etc. were OK? Any other symptoms? You're not giving us much to go on.......

yeah the vac lines ok. if i let it idle for awhile it will just shut off and when iam at like a stop light the idle will shudder and almost die.

so it didnt start but cranked, then you let off the key.
From then on it has not been running right?

This is weird. It was running perfect before this?
You either yanked something loose like a wire or hose or it was just a coincidence that they happend at the same time, meaning maybe the reason its running weird is the same reason it took a few cranks to start it?

yep it ran like a champ up until this. i was starting it and mid crank like right before it turned over i let go. i checked the vac lines there ok, why the rough idle and what would cause it to completley turn off after idling for a few?

check your idle air control valve... wouldn't hurt to give ita cleaning... maybe it backfired and something got effected that way

Maybe try resetting your computer, or perhaps when it farted it messed up your fuel pressure regulator . My truck ran like that once, and thats what it ended up being, the regulator .

yeah iam gonna check the fuel pressure reg. but one more thing now when i crank it it takes forever to turn over. does that just reinforce the reg problem being the culprit?

could very well be. next time it spudders and dies , pull a plug and see if it is soaked with gas. Sounds like it is floading out due to press reg
