2000 XLT
Hello;)

My name is Julie. I own a 2000 ford explorer xlt with a 5.0. I love it. I honestly picked it up for 500 bucks. It needed a rear shackle. ;)
I sold an escalade shortly after I started driving my xlt, because I liked it so much more!
I manage a junk yard, so for an girl, I have some understanding ( not alot, just some) lol.
I also manage to get some neat stuff, or replacement parts pretty cheap.
Incidentally , that's what brought me here!
I decided that I really liked the message center in a 97 Eddie Bauer edition explorer, and want to install it, into my 2000 xlt.
I'm still not entirely sure it can be done, but I did manage to take the full wiring harness, and plugs. ( hoping it's an easy swap)

I haven't done a whole lot of anything to it yet. I added Louviers , and it has a heavier hitch added, but that's about it. I did manage to find a different set of the tear drop aluminum rims, and tires, and will be throwing those on soon. So, I'll have two sets of rims. ( nice for summer/winter tire changes)

Sorry for the rambles.. Just excited to start seeing and learning all the stuff I can do to my explorer.

Welcome to this forum! How many years are you working in the junkyard? I think that the people in these yards have more experience taking things apart than regular mechanics. They don't usually put them back together, but they work on just about every kind of vehicle in every year. How many cars a week do you get?

I have been here almost 2 years. It is the best job I have ever had. we average 800 cars. as for what we get per week, it varies on weather, and peoples need for income:) some weeks, ill buy as many as 20 cars, others, I wont buy one!

I can easily rip apart most cars, lol, your right, its the reassembling that is the difficult part for me!
