Westin Safari Bar question

I was wondering if anyone has installed one of these on their second gen X. I am looking for something that will fit under the lower valence. Also, I was curious if anyone thought that the safari bar would help with protection while mudding, or if it would just reduce the amount of clearance I currently have (basically will it help or hurt for mudding purposes)? I would like to keep my lower valence if possible, and at the same time, protect the valence and radiator. Suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

IMO a waste of money. I had one. It decreased ground clearance, and didn't go a year until it started to rust.

Your best bet is probably a custom skidplate or bumper. A big bar that's only held on with a couple bolts isn't going to do much of anything.

Something like that with a built in skidplate would be a good choice.
