i have a 97 mounty with the tear drop 15x7 rims and since my 3''bl my little 235s have looked like doughnuts. i am planning on 33's and am not willing to go with the, "poor mans' bead locker" :D with the 7'' rims... so i want some 8'' wides and i just need to hear a straight up spec. i need like offdet, backspace, lug patt. ect

whats the perfect size rim that would stick out a little bit?

(thanks much and i apologize, a link will do, but ive seen so many diff combonations i need to hear straight up)

yes 15x8 5 on 4.5" 3.75" back spacing. You may need to trim a little on the backs of the fenders to clear the tires

...^^^...what he said...:D

...Plus you could click the "How To" in my signature for more useful info if you need it...;)

...The Cragar Soft 8 is a common wheel that is used for offroading and alot of people get theirs from Summit.....The wheel you posted has 4.75 B.S. instead of 3.75 B.S....I would contact them and see if it is available in the 3.75 B.S....:D

shoot your right... is it-the higher the nimber of B.S the more they stick out?

The higher the number the closer the wheels will be toward the engine/axles.. The stock wheels are 4" back spacing, with 11.5" wide or wider tires you want less than 4"

...Save your eyes from going cross and ask Summit for your wheels, in the size Blee1099 suggested...Let us now what you get...:D

alright! so ive decided on the 15x8 rim with 5x4.5 lug patt and a 4.0 backspacing... now my question is,

**********************since i dont have money for tires right now, could i put my 235s on the 8'' wide rim for now?***************

i was thinkin i sell my explorer rims for tire money...

oh and btw, i called on the 3.75 backspacing, and they actually said they could CUSTOM MAKE THEM but they were non retunable and would take 2-3 weeks...

yea you could mount 235's on them. btw as far as tires go, craigslist is your friend. ;)

yayyyy its been a while guys since the time you all helped me decide! so heres an update! my 97 mounty with a tt shackles and body lift is now sittin on some crager soft 8 rims specs(5x4.5 bp, 4in bs, and its a 15X8 wheel) all wrapped in some 33X12.50 dunlop mudrovers.

just fyi they rub a little, who cares  :D

...Now that looks nice..

..You should post a pic of before/after in a show off your truck thread..They can be found in my "How to" in my signature...;)
