What all does a tune up consist of?

I'm waiting for my 95 Ford Truck CD that I purchased off Ebay to arrive. As soon as it does, the AF is getting flushed out along with changing the transfer case fluid. I also have to figure out how to change one of my fog lights. Im hoping the CD has a lot of diagrams.

Bottomlesspit, thanks for the tip about the distilled water. I'm glad you mentioned that. I will be doing most of these things at work, since we have a huge shop in the back. We have well water there and its horrible! It smells so bad I don't even wash my hands with it. Thank goodness for baby wipes!

I cant say this enough, Im sure glad I found this board/forum. I wish I would have found it a few years ago, but its better late than never. My truck wont be going back to a garage unless absolutely necessary.

This morning Im off to fix my clothes washer! My timer is bad. Last night I found a board that covers everything from fixing appliances to gardening. I figured if there's a board for my truck, there's got to be one for my washing machine!

You will need to spend some time learning how to find the info you need on the 95 ford truck cd. I purchased one about a month ago. Once you learn how to use the CD, all the info you will ever need is there. Between the CD and the great help you can get here, you should be able to fix almost anything.

The CD's can also be found on fixitcds.com. I have been able to repair a lower left headlight out that was caused by a cold solder joint in the lamps out module. The repair CD took me right to the LOM and after opening it up, I saw the cold solder joint and fixed it myself.

Good luck in finding the problem with the OD.

O/D light flashing

I am amazed at the number of people who still think the flashing O/D light means that you will soon be replacing the transmission. Nothing is further from the truth.

The flashing O/D light relates to the internal computer detecting something irregular. If the light goes off the computer has "fixed" the problem. OK not fixed but compensated for whatever the problem was (ie: fuel, emissions, timing).

Do not replace the transmission.

I had similar problems with my 96 XLT... O/D light flashing and check engine light on. Also the speedometer, cruise control and transmission overdrive stopped working. It turned out to be the grey/black wire had shorted out in the overhead display unit (which shouldn't have been wired here but was set up for future planned displays).
