Thanks to those who replied to my questions about swaping my IFS with 1st generation parts.
I was thinking that it might be just as easy to do a SAS. But it dos'nt hurt to ask. So my next question is what all is involved in a SAS?
I've already done a 3" Ranger body lift. Add-a-leafs in the rear & a torsion twist in the front. I'm very unhappy with the IFS, and would like a little more lift (and a real front end ). I would appreciate some input. Thanx Shane C.

Give Lizardtrac a yell. He's in the process of doing a SAS on a Gen II X right now.

Basically all your IFS stuff needs to be cut off, including the lower frame crossmember that houses your front diff.

The frame will need to be crossed for strength and an entirely new suspension setup will be needed. You'll also have to find an axle to put in there.

The axle can either be located by radius arms with coilovers or arms with coils. Or you can do leaves for ease of installation but the ride and handling will be worse.

You could also dream up some other suspensions such as 4 links, etc; but the two above are the easiest and most common.

CoryL is developing an SAS kit for the second gen. You may want to contact him for details.

If you go to the explorer projects forum, there is many threads on SAS.
