The stock 19" wipers on my 94 do nothing during heavy rain. I want bigger blades. How big can I get them, & still fit the windshield?
Thanks

You'll have to go with the 19" blades. You may want to try a different brand. I have been very pleased with the Anco Aerovantge. Others have given high marks to the Bosch Micro Edge Excel. You may also want to try Rain-X or one of the other windshield coatings. They seem to help keep the rain off when driving at highway speed and help extend the life of the wiper blade.

The blade is not the problem. It's the size of it. they are just too small. They do not sweep the whole windsheild good enough. I bought 20" wipers & they seem to work better.

From personal experience, plastic wipers tend to chatter and streak a lot more than metal ones. I switched over to plastic once and regretted it. Back to metal wipers and the problems disappeared. I know you're talking about wiping surface, but i just wanted to add something that i've noticed. :)

I have 21" or 22" blades. I KNOW the 21" work a lot better. Think 22 would still work. i recommend Bosch Micro Edge Excel blades...they are great

I never need to use my wipers :o)

I keep my windshield clean and with a good coat of Rain-X. At any speed faster than, say, about 35, the rain just blows right off. I highly recommend it to anybody. Only trouble is, if your windshield gets dirty, or dusty, the Rain-X doesn;t work cause the water never sees the glass. I try to keep mine clean, and it works wonders.

I have a 94 Sport, and I always thought the windshields were the same. Mine came with 18" wipers stock. I just bought a pair of Bosch Micro Edge Excel and they are _great_ compared to the anco I had on there. I also use lots of Rain-X so the only time I use my wipers is in town going slow.

A while back I put bigger wipers on my Navajo, thinking that the extra inch would be useful. The blades didn't make contact with the windscreen as well as the smaller ones, especially at freeway speeds, and the result was worse. Also, the passenger side one would hit the antenna if I pulled it off the windscreen. Back to smaller ones now.
