red migth actually be red... ford had differnt shades of red throughout the years..... but then again, it could be some wierd off the wall color as well....

that color appears to be sunrise red... but again, ford had very differnt colors.. here is what i am basing my reference off of.. this is the FORD Factory paint colors near red for the 1995 model year... bear in mind these cover all fords.. so it still might not be right http://autocolorlibrary.com/cgi-bin/search/searchpic.pl?1995-fordtruck-pg01.jpg

also jsut looked again and by the symbols represented, it appears to be vermillion red or sunrise red.... as those were both available in the light truck designation

ford has a way of making every maroon look purple/pink from certain angles. a friend of mine saw my factory electric current red explorer at night and swears to this day its hot pink. my xlt i had was that weird color change red, my moms 97 is the green color change lookin color. what happened to regular colors? lol

It looks very similar to mine, and mine is Toreador red. That's my guess.

That was going to be my guess, but I don't think Toreador Red was introduced until '97. It seems to be slightly more orange/red than that anyway.
